Background

High Afghanistan Rehabilitation Organization (HARO) was established in 08/1992 to take part in
Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Development of the war torn Afghanistan.
So far, HARO has been supported by United Nation’s High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), World Food Program (WFP), United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF) , Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Afghan support Committee (ASC), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Rielef International (RI), United Nation’s Office for Project (UNOPS), UNOCHA, LGCD/USAID, GTZ/ALP, Provincial Rehabilitation Teams (PRT) and ASMED/USAID The organization is registered with ANCB, Government of Afghanistan (Manistry of Economy). This organization has implemented several projects in different provinces of Afghanistan (see the list attached). It has Main office in Nangarhar and Site office in Kabul, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman and Khost and as per requirement will be opened in the other necessary province.

HARO is a Non-Governmental, Non-political and Non-profiteer Organization. HARO is a technical, engineering oriented organization having the goal to take part in Construction, Reconstruction and Development of Afghanistan. Nature of HARO’s work is open-competitive based.
HARO can work individual or joint as umbrella for the projects implementation. HARO can accept orders from Individuals, Government Departments, and other Organizations.
HARO can propose proposals identified by the communities as prior needs. after completion
of technical aspects will be submitted to donor agencies for funding.
HARO operates purely on humanitarian bases to organize various departments that shall function together to assist the people of Afghanistan by under taking various projects and engineering works to rebuild the war torn infrastructures of the country.
HARO can survey, plan , design , and implement Rehabilitation, Construction, Reconstruction and Social Service projects and activities in Afghanistan. HARO can coordinate and develop projects be on establishing cooperation with organization having similar objectives and with donor organization.
HARO can accept grants from any governments, agencies, authorities, public bodies, corporations, companies, or presents of money, movable and immovable properties, donations, gifts, subscriptions, devices, and other assistance with a view of promoting the objectives of the society an in receiving any gift of property to take the same either unconditionally or subject to special conditions prescribed in writing by the donors.
